Before joining the Board of CLEARink Mr. Pollack managed the display hardware engineering teams for Amazon¹s digital display products from 2014 to the end of 2016.
Before Amazon Mr Pollack worked at Nvidia and Nouvoyance, a Samsung funded company that develops PenTile® technology for low-power, high-resolution display applications. Before that he was the CEO & president at Clairvoyance Inc., a venture-capital-funded IP licensing company that developed PenTile® technology enabling high-resolution, low-power-consumption displays for cell phones, personal media players (PMP), DSC, netbooks, PCs, and HDTV markets. He was hired into Clairvoyance with the objective to find an exit for the company, which he achieved by selling the company to Samsung. Before that Mr. Pollack was VP for Display Products at Sharp from 1991 to 2004. Before that he spent 7 years at Tektronix and 12 years at Xerox R&D. Mr. Pollack offers a unique combination of mid-stage venture and Fortune 500 company leadership experience, enhanced by an R&D and scientific background, extensive expertise in display technology and display business infrastructure, as well as deep cross-cultural experience working with Asian business partners.
Mr. Pollack holds a BS in Physics from the Rochester Institute of Technology, studied graduate level Physics at the University of California Riverside, and, has an MS in Materials Science from the University of Rochester. He has held the position of Director of Society for Information Displays from 20011- 2016 and holds multiple patents in display, ink and optical computing technologies.
