Scott Ferguson has over 20 years of manufacturing development and scale-up to commercialization experience in roll to roll manufacturing and flexible/printed electronics. He has worked at both Fortune 500 and start-up companies at the Director and Executive levels.

His most recent position was Managing Partner of Flex R&D Inc. a product development and consulting company with a focus on innovative smart packaging and flexible electronics. Prior to Flex R&D, Scott served as VP Engineering and Operations at Innova Dynamics where he led the scale up effort for materials synthesis and touch screen film fabrication based on silver nanowire technology.

Prior to Innova Dynamics, Scott was the Senior Director at Avery Dennison in charge of the Printed Electronics Center of Excellence where his team developed photovoltaic backplanes for next generation crystal silicon solar panels, and electronic price labels for apparel. Prior to that, he served as VP Technology and Operations at NanoGram where his team developed a nano silicon based printable semiconductor. The company was later sold to Teijin in Japan. Scott also served as Sr. Director Technology at Avery Dennison for Printed Electronics prior to NanoGram where his team developed new to the world high speed manufacturing for RFID inlays and labels, and helped start-up the manufacturing operation for Avery Dennison’s RFID Division in South Carolina.

Scott began his career at Duracell where he was Project Lead for the development and commercialization of the PowerCheck product at Duracell’s alkaline manufacturing facilities and later set up and managed an experimental production team responsible for scaling new technologies developed at Duracell’s Research Center.

He holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
